    • Overview

Giving feedback to students is a critical part of the learning experience, but it can be intimidating for many preceptors to give critical or negative feedback. Preceptors can feel underprepared, or even too rushed to give the student quality feedback, either in the moment or at the end of the rotation experience. Though the art of giving remarkable feedback is not typically taught in the health sciences education, like taking a blood pressure or blood glucose reading, it is a skill that can be learned and perfected over time.
