Overview
“The greatest barrier to pharmaceutical care is ourselves. The success of an idea requires the dedication of people who believe in it and who pledge themselves to its general acceptance and implementation.” Pharmacy legislation, regulations, and rules continue to change along with the evolution of practice models. As these opportunities present themselves, how can your team take a proactive approach, stay actively involved, and push towards providing the highest quality patient care possible?
During the presentation, a broad national landscape overview will further investigate some of the more recent law changes based on specific state examples. With an estimated 400k+ pharmacy technicians and 300k+ pharmacists in the workforce, evolving practice models and roles are essential opportunity to explore. Models involving tech-check-tech and administration of immunizations by technicians will be run through the litmus analysis test to demonstrate if these roles are reliable and safe. Additionally, exploration of the commonalities in certification, training, education, and other requirements amongst several states will be observed. Lastly, a summary of methods to get and/or stay involved will be touched on.
