    • Overview

      Integrative pharmacy seeks to recognize the value of a holistic and systematic approach to health and wellness.  This module is part of a comprehensive series that examines the pharmacist’s role in integrative medicine.  In this module, the idea of insulin resistance is examined, with a focus on the impact that insulin resistance and diabetes have on overall health. Various mechanisms of managing a patient’s insulin and blood sugar levels are explored.  The role macronutrients and nutraceuticals are examined for their potential role in regulating insulin and blood sugar status.  Proper guidance by a knowledgeable pharmacist can help patients improve their state of health and inherent sense of well-being.
