    • Overview

      The community healthcare provider can play an active role in educating patients who are at risk for developing colon cancer as well as those who have been diagnosed with colon cancer. Many risk factors are linked with the development of colon cancer; patients can be informed about these and strategies to reduce them when possible. Additionally, community healthcare providers can educate, advocate, and even offer screening options to eligible patients. Finally, guidance regarding side effect management for those undergoing colon cancer treatment can be provided.
