  Scabies is a condition that may make your skin crawl more than just about anything else and is caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. Scabies is a highly contagious skin condition that requires prompt and effective treatment. When one patient gets scabies, it often spreads to the rest of the family.
