    • Overview

In a podcast-style discussion, Mike Corvino, PharmD, and Cole Swanson, PharmD examine the American Academy of Dermatology’s updated 2024 guideline for the management of acne vulgaris. Since their most recent update in 2016, several new medications have come to market that influence their new recommendations. Acne is a very common condition and pharmacists and nurses regularly encounter patients self-treating with over-the-counter medications. It is important that pharmacists and nurses understand the appropriate use of prescription medications available to treat this condition and how to counsel patients on side effects. This session seeks to explore these topics, focusing on how this information can best be incorporated into daily medical practice.
