    • Overview

May is Women’s Health Month, a time dedicated to the health and wellness of women throughout the world. Heart disease and cancer are leading causes of death for women in the United States, but there are other diseases and conditions affecting women’s health that are less-discussed, but equally important. In this unique panel style discussion, we are joined by a stroke survivor who will share her unique perspective on caregiving, patient advocacy, and stroke awareness. Our patient panelist will be joined by others within the healthcare sector who are making impressive strides forward. Together, we will discuss the recommended healthcare screening procedures for women, risk factors, and strategies for prevention of common conditions experienced by women. As with all ‘Beyond the Classroom’ discussions, participants will be able to interact directly with the panelists in real time.
