    • Overview

In Module 6 – Foot Testing and Peripheral Neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy and foot examination will be reviewed in depth. This module will describe symptoms of peripheral neuropathy and will explore common prescribed, over-the-counter and herbal therapies used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy. In addition, the advantages of foot examination in the pharmacy will be discussed. Through this case-based presentation, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to consult with patients with diabetes on how to care for their feet and what over-the-counter products, herbal therapies, and/or surgical supply items to use for different foot-related conditions. Furthermore, through video instruction, pharmacists will review different steps to simply and effectively provide foot examination to patients with diabetes that will enhance care and reduce progression to diabetes foot complications.
