    • Overview

John Bonica is recognized as the "Father of Pain Management, yet few know of his early beginnings in professional wrestling as the "Masked Marvel Entertainer (MME). Interestingly enough, MME, or "morphine milligram equivalent" is a term in pain management that has great debate and almost universal utilization in all facets of patient care and society alike. Although involving middle-school math, the utilization by MMEs by so very many healthcare professionals somehow becomes immediately complicated, and understandably so. In this discussion, we will clear the air on the limitations of MMEs, review the MME factors of the most common prescription opioid medications, and deploy them into practice with many MME dosage calculations. Audience members may even end up with a better understanding of MMEs than the Masked Marvel Entertainer himself!
