    • Overview

Historically, criminal poisonings have attracted the public’s attention because of the reasons for the poisonings, the sheer number of victims involved, and/or the toxicity of the poison used.  Some of these poisonings have resulted in changes in laws and regulations to protect the public, such as the Tylenol/cyanide poisonings in 1982. This webinar will familiarize pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other health care providers with famous poisonings that have occurred in recent times, as well as shed light on why the public’s attention has been drawn to them. The toxic effects associated with the poisons and drugs often involved in criminal poisonings will also be reviewed.
