    • Overview

This Micro-CE serves to provide a refresher on the different treatment options for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP). It is important that we remember the different caveats for treatments in pregnancy given the changes in pharmacokinetics that come with pregnancy, especially for a condition that up to 80% of people undergoing pregnancy experience! First-line pharmacologic treatment options include pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and doxylamine, but there are other medications that are important to remember as well. Additionally, it is important to note when NVP is severe enough to be classified as “hyperemesis gravidarum,” or HG, and when a patient may have to go to the hospital for
      dehydration.
