    • Overview

With the rise in opioid use over the last decade, it has become more important for patients to have increased access to the opioid overdose reversal agent, naloxone (Narcan). This presentation discusses the importance of naloxone, how it works, which patients would benefit the most from having naloxone at home, and how pharmacy technicians can support the role of the pharmacist in ensuring safe dispensing of opioids. Naloxone can be a hard discussion to have with patients, so this program discusses empathetic and educational ways to bring up the topic to patients.
