    • Overview

This session is part of the General Pain Specialty Series, which explores overall pain management considerations, best practices, and pain conditions. This module will cover various common clinical conundrum situations revolving around pain management. This module aims to help identify appropriate treatment options for patients with pain who have a higher risk of opioid abuse, while recognizing appropriate steps for dismissing a patient from a patient and provider relationship. The federally mandated corresponding responsibility of the pharmacist is discussed within the context of challenges specific to pain management. Appropriate referral resources for substance-use disorder and drug diversion/abuse are also discussed.
