  Overview

  In today’s diverse community and healthcare environment, addressing health disparities has become imperative. This session gives an overview of the complex variables that affect healthcare outcomes and access. The goal is to raise awareness of the disproportionate impact on marginalized communities by looking at the present setting and statistics. Additionally, this session will highlight current initiatives that address these issues such as the effects of taking prescription-only birth control to over-the-counter status, and the role of pharmacy professionals in bridging the gap between healthcare and the communities we serve.
