Dr. DeBenedetto is Assistant Professor at University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. He teaches in the areas of Community Pharmacy, Ambulatory Care and HIV. Prior to joining UMES he completed a residency in community pharmacy with Campbell University and Walgreens and practiced in Raleigh, NC, where he initially earned his AAHIVP certification. His practice and interests involve community pharmacy, pharmacy advocacy, HIV, transgender care, and substance abuse. He currently serves as president of the Maryland Pharmacists Association, as well as serving on the Maryland state PDMP Advisory Board, and the APhA Books and Electronic Products Editorial Advisory Board. His current practice site is at Chase Brexton Health Center in Easton Maryland where he serves as an ambulatory care pharmacist providing care to patients with HIV.
