Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Dr. Monica Mahoney is a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She received her PharmD degree from MCPHS University and completed PGY1 and PGY2-ID training at Tufts Medical Center, all in Boston. For the past 13 years, she has worked as an ID pharmacist at BIDMC, first as an inpatient clinical coordinator and rounding with the ID consult services. Three years ago, she transitioned to the ambulatory space, working in the outpatient ID and OPAT clinics. Dr. Mahoney is involved in a number of national pharmacy and ID organizations, including ACCP, ASHP, IDSA, SHEA, and SIDP. Dr. Mahoney has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, serves on the editorial advisory boards of ASHE, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and Contagion, and most recently became an Associate Editor at OFID.
