    Dr. Tammie Lee Demler received her Doctor of Pharmacy, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science degrees at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Dr. Demler is a dually Board-Certified Pharmacist with clinical expertise in psychiatry and geriatric pharmacy practice. She is currently the Director of Pharmacy residency training at SUNY Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) and has numerous adjunct academic appointments, including Clinical Associate Professor SUNY School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and recent academic promotion to Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in SPPS. Dr. Demler collaborates with both the National Association of the Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) to develop board examinations that establish the minimum competencies expected for new practitioners to practice in an ever changing clinical environment.

    Prior to embarking on her academic and institutional career, Dr. Demler's clinical practice focused on ambulatory care in community pharmacy. Currently, her clinical practice site is the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center. She has presented medication continuing education programs nationally and internationally.  Dr. Demler served as President of both the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York and the Pharmacists Association of Western New York. She has earned awards during her career that include Pharmacist of the Year (2004), Bowl of Hygeia (2009), UB SPPS Teacher of the year (2019), Educator of the Year (YWCA) 2020 and Residency Training Award SPSS (2022).
