Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist, New York City Virology and Pride Clinic

Dr. Anthony Gerber earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Long Island University’s Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy. Following his graduation, he completed a PGY-1 residency at the New York Harbor Healthcare System VA, and a PGY-2 in Ambulatory Care at Long Island University/Brooklyn Hospital Center. A board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist, Dr. Gerber has been recognized by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He currently serves as a CDTM Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue, where he works in both the Virology and Pride clinics. He is Bellevue’s first status-neutral CDTM pharmacist, specializing in gender-affirming care, as well as HIV treatment and prevention for transgender and gender-nonconforming patients.

Dr. Gerber is deeply involved in research, focusing on HIV and its impact on metabolic disorders. His current work explores the expanding role of CDTM pharmacists in gender-affirming care and the management of chronic diseases in HIV patients. Additionally, Dr. Gerber is a dedicated leader within his local pharmacy chapter, having founded the Royals Counties Grassroots Advocacy Committee to advocate for pharmacist-related legislation in New York State. In 2022, he was elected President of the Royal Counties chapter, where he is currently serving a two-year term.
