Deborah’s passion for pharmacy started at 8 years old when her young aunt passed away from brain cancer. The grief made Deborah be aware of debilitating and deadly disease state as well as her insatiable need to help patients.
She holds a dual PharmD degree from University of Paris-Sud XI, France and Long Island University, NY in 2010 where she graduated with Honors from both schools. She is a licensed RPh in MA, NJ and NY. She is a certified Immunizer as well as certified MTM Pharmacist.
After graduation, she moved to MA to complete an internship in a fertility pharmacy specializing in fertility/oncology medications. She developed a passion helping women during their protocols (IUI, IVF, ICSI etc.) offering medication training, medication use, adverse events etc. With the advice of her former preceptor, she became certified Sterile/Non-sterile compounding to become an expert in compounding, following the NECC outbreak in MA. She moved to NJ and worked as Medical information manager for a large pharmaceutical company. Her abilities to maneuver multiple languages, her expertise in Pharmacology made her an essential asset however she was missing the direct clinical patient contact. She later accepted a Supervising Pharmacist position in a newly Pharmacy in a Hispanic neighborhood in NY. She implemented medication training, coordinated clinical information with physicians to decrease drug misuse and increase proper medication use. After that, she accepted a position in a LTC pharmacy in NJ as Specialty Staff Pharmacist. She enjoys the clinical aspect of geriatric environment, offering medication advises to physicians, evaluating patients’ medication chart and answering clinicians’ complex questions on medications. Not 2 days are the same and that is what challenges Deborah to go above and beyond for patient care. With her expertise in sterile/non-sterile compounding, she became a Consulting Pharmacist for independent Pharmacies looking to expand their revenues and open their own compounding setting. She advises pharmacies on the expenses and avenues of compounding feasible for each pharmacy setting.
