Lucia Watson is a Pre-Medicine teacher at The Academy for the Arts, Science and Technology in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from Onondaga Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education/Health Occupations from SUNY Oswego, a Master’s Degree in Health Education from SUNY Cortland and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from Syracuse University. She earned National Board Certification in Health Education and is a PTCB National Certified Pharmacy Technician. She holds dual teaching and administrator certifications, plus dental hygiene licenses, in South Carolina and New York State. She has years of healthcare experience in general dental and orthodontic practices, dental office management and as Director of Risk Management. Additionally, she has hospital Pharmacy Technician experience, is a member of the PTEC Leadership Committee, teaches state certification courses for new CTE teachers, has written several curriculum programs for a variety of courses, presents at numerous national, state, and local conferences and is a scorer for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
A resident of the Myrtle Beach area, Mrs. Watson has been in education for over 18 years with experiences that also include teaching Health, Child Development, AVID and Pre-LPN Adult Education courses plus as an assistant principal at both the high school and middle school levels.
