    • Overview

This issue will discuss the recent guideline updates for the treatment of heart failure published by the American Heart Association/Amer-ican College of Cardiology/Heart Failure Society of America (ACC/AHA/HFSA). These updates include new additions to therapies con-sidered standards of care for HF. Four medication classes are now recommended as GDMT for patients with stage C HF. There is also a focus on the prevention of HF in patients at risk for HF and with pre-HF. The updated classification of heart failure, as well as medica-tions currently available and recommended for HF management, will be reviewed as well.
