    • Overview

      This activity will review the menstrual cycle to familiarize the learner with the process by which conception takes place and the sites where pharmacological contraceptive products act to prevent conception. The various hormonal treatment options will be discussed in relation to effectiveness, adverse effects, contraindications/special considerations, and pertinent patient counseling points. Pharmacological options for emergency contraception will also be discussed.
