    • Overview

Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) are commonly used for the management of GERD and common heartburn, both as prescription and non-prescription options. This class of drugs, however, has garnered media attention as safety concerns have risen surrounding the long-term use of these agents. Pharmacists, then, need to fully understand the observational studies in order to address patient and prescriber concerns. This session seeks to objectively evaluate the data surrounding the safety of long-term PPI use in a practical manner.
