    • Overview

Pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare providers, so patients typically stop in pharmacies or call pharmacists for advice all the time.  With influenza vaccination season upon us, it is imperative for pharmacists to be able to assist patients with symptom differentiation between influenza and COVID-19.  This session will discuss the similarities and differences between symptoms of influenza and COVID-19 as well as the point of care tests that can be done to diagnose what illness a patient is suffering from.  It is also important to understand the precautions that must be taken to ensure that pharmacy staff and patients remain safe when providing influenza immunizations this season.  Finally, this program will provide an overview of the vaccine approval process and the candidate vaccines for COVID-19.  Please join us for this presentation to see how you can help do your part in educating others to prevent COVID-19 and influenza.
