    • Overview

The ear and dental sections in our pharmacies may not have a lot of therapeutic options, but our expertise is often needed. Although we have no antibiotic ear drops over-the-counter, lots of patients ask our advice for ear wax removal and swimmers ear. Because so many of our patients, especially in the low-income population, lack adequate dental insurance, the pharmacist is often the first-line mouth-care specialist. Referral to a dentist is often what we recommend, but we need to be able to help our patients with cold sores, canker sores, and product selection for prevention of dental caries if they can't afford dental care.
