    • Overview

Diabetes is a common disease that can have life-threatening consequences. Blood glucose monitoring is essential for patients with diabetes to evaluate the response to treatment, manage symptoms, achieve glycemic goals, and delay or prevent complications. Currently, blood glucose monitoring technology involves the use of blood glucose meters and continuous glucose monitoring devices. Improvements in usability, accuracy, and convenience have led to more widespread implementation of continuous glucose monitoring in clinical practice.  Due to the intricacy and rapidly evolving technology of continuous glucose monitoring, it may be challenging to stay up to date. It is vital for health care professionals to have current knowledge to enable patients to use this technology properly to manage their diabetes.
