    • Overview

Pharmacists are on the front lines when it comes to supplements. Our prescribers are very comfortable with prescribing many of the supplements in this unit, so long as they can monitor with blood tests. We dispense a lot of calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium daily from prescriptions, as they are easily monitored with blood tests. When it comes to herbals and supplements, we are on our own. The realm of supplementation is left entirely to the pharmacist. We will explore in depth the fourteen most common herbals and supplements that our patients would inquire about, along with the anions and cations commonly prescribed.
