    • Overview

      This program will provide the information and tools for pharmacy technicians to understand and uphold HIPAA regulations. It will provide technicians with tools to be able to recognize when situations are upholding HIPAA. It will discuss the importance of patient privacy and who is covered under HIPAA. Case scenarios will help aid in better understanding of what is appropriate and what is not when discussing patient health information and how social media plays a role in workers being compliant with HIPAA. Technicians will also be able to identify what constitutes PHI and how to appropriately handle and dispose of PHI.
