    • Overview

Acute coronary syndrome is an important disease state for healthcare workers to understand. There are three different types of acute coronary syndromes (ACS), and it is essential to know the differences between them. Pharmacy has an essential role in managing the medications these patients are on for effective therapy. Pharmacy technicians can play a role in this disease state when it comes to reducing medication errors, monitoring patient adherence to their medications through identified tips, and monitoring other important factors that come into play such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, and smoking cessation. This session will provide an overview of ACS, the differences between the three types, and the medications used for treatment.
