      Cancer is a dreadful and complicated disease state. In addition to the actual disease treatments of surgery and radiation, there are large amounts of pharmaceutical and supportive care involved in treatment regimens. Many patients and their loved ones struggle with complex and extensive treatment plans. As part of the health care team, both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are a crucial part of patient care. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are often an accessible first and foremost point of contact for many patients. This broad overview presentation is to support pharmacy staff in the recognition and assistance of many common difficulties of cancer patients. From identifying patients who may have undiagnosed cancer, to helping save cancer patients time and money, this presentation seeks to help arm pharmacy technician heroes with information and tools to best assist in the pharmacy setting.
